What is a SPOT Location?
Darrell has been using a SPOT device to help track his progress. This device sends a signal to a satellite, which transmits that signal to the SPOT computer. The SPOT computer then posts Darrell's location on a map on their website. He will do this each night when he has found a campsite. Sometimes he will be able to send SPOT signals during his passage across a strait or up various channels. The links below are the spot transmissions since Darrell woke up on this departure day, July 31, 2009! You can click each link to follow his progress northward.
